Pre 40's Run Report
Who turned off the sun, after a fantastic day on the Saturday the Sunday morning of the run was cloudy and drizzly. Never mind, 11 pre 40's machines were dragged out of their garages for the annual Pre 40's Run starting from Wramplingham. 8 section members signed on as travelling marshals as their bikes were later than 1940. All enjoyed the tea and bacon roll to start the day.

The morning route took the riders east from Wramplingham cutting across the main roads of the A140 and A11, the route then headed south through Stoke Holy Cross down narrow, bumpy country lanes through some lovely hamlets to the Waveney Valley. The route took us along the valley to the Aviation Museum at Flixton.
Refreshments were available at the museum or there was the Flixton Buck PH at the end of the drive. There were a number of breakdowns in the morning with Mike Curtis' BSA having a puncture, our Morgan breaking a coil low tension lead, Alan's BSA outfit broke a clutch cable and Mike Nichols' Triumph oil pump failed.

The line up of machines at the museum was impressive with the Vickers Valetta as a backdrop.
The return route was uneventful with no further breakdowns, the route taking us through Bungay and Ellingham before heading north and then back across the main roads.
On arriving back at Wramplingham there was tea and cake to finish off the day. Our thanks go to John and Diana for the catering, Nick for the route and backup and Cynthia for the admin. A donation will be made to the museum from the section.
