Shakedown Event Report
The annual Shakedown Event took place on the 13th April 2009 under grey misty skies. This was a lot better than last year's Easter Monday snow storm. Due to the poor conditions and low cloud there was no flying during the morning.
25 riders entered the regularity event using part of the airfield peri track as the course.
There were some very close runs during the morning with the winner returning a difference from run one to run two of 0.06 second on his 1925 Douglas. The second place rider was Brian Finch in his F4 Morgan with a difference of 0.82 second.
The most desirable machine was awarded by participants and spectators; the winner of this being Michael Muggridge with his Triumph Speed Twin Combination with a Stieb Sidecar.
19 riders and passengers stayed behind after the event closed at 13.00 for
a very nice 2 course lunch.
