Gerald Chapman Memorial Run
17 Riders and 3 passengers took part in this year's Gerald Chapman Memorial Run starting from Sloley on a rather cloudy morning. Gerald and Joy's grandson Ivan had come across from the Isle of Man for the run with his interesting BMW R65 race replica, the smell of Castrol R as be boomed off down the road was impressive.
The morning route took the riders through Felmingham and Erpingham before arriving at The Alby Horseshoes for the lunch stop. There were no breakdowns on route and the skies were starting to clear.
After lunch the return route took the riders up to the North East Norfolk coast going through Gimingham , Bacton and Happisburgh before returning inland at Lessingham towards Honing.
All riders returned in good time to get involved with the raffle and enjoy the buffet put on by Joy and her helpers. The combined entry and raffle raised £100 for Leukemia research.
Our thanks go to Jimmy and Brian who devised the route, Brian Francis and Jimmy for the backup, Joy and her helpers for the venue, raffle and buffet, Cynthia for the admin and finally all the riders and passengers who enjoyed the day.
