Lou Oliver Waveney Valley Run
21 Riders took part in the Lou Oliver Waveney Valley Run. The Run started at the East Anglian Transport Museum at Carlton Colville. The early morning rain cleared to give a warm dry day. The route in the morning took the riders and passengers along the Waveney Valley crossing over the river at Ellingham Mill and Ditchingham Dam stopping at the Red Lion Needham for lunch.

The first breakdown was the 1925 AJS which was on its first long run for about 5 years. The verdict was lack of sparks from the magneto so it ended up on the trailer. At the time of putting the AJS on the trailer another breakdown was reported: this time it was Andrew Fryer's Norton with no sparks. On arrival Nick diagnosed melted HT leads on the cylinder head: these were repositioned and the bike started.
The lunch stop at the Red Lion was met with approval by the riders, the carpark allowed the bikes to be lined up at the end.

The return route took the riders through the Saints on the Suffolk border returning to the East Anglian Transport Museum for the awards ceremony.
The highest combined age went to Dave Turner, the Youngest Rider went toJanet Smith and the Most Desirable Machine went to Tony Durier's newly restored Scott.
Our thanks go to the staff at the Red Lion, the staff at the East Anglian Transport Museum and Cynthia Forster for keeping check on the paperwork.
