Who decided this was a good day out?!!!!!
What a day we had. It all started at the Marsh Harrier on the A140 at 08.00. 5 of us set off along the A47 to the Watton road where we picked up Peter giving us a total of 6 to head down to Brandon & pickup the Kings Lynn Section members. At Brandon there were 8 Kings Lynn Section members with Andy & Bill designated as the route finders.
We all set off across the Fens towards Ely picking up John Essam in his Talbot on route. The drive through Ely was not a good idea as the traffic was bad & it was very hot. On reaching the other side of the town there was a route mix up causing a U turn and this resulted in Andrew's bike stalling and then not restarting. The majority carried on and after 30 minutes it had cooled off and the 2 of us made our own way to Old Warden getting lost in the Great Barford area.
The turn out was very good with about 100 bikes and 200 cars; Keith & Sally had come down with their motorhome and with the section sign on board, became a place to park clothing etc.
The day was very good with some aircraft flying and lots to see.
At 3o'clock we decided to make tracks for home using the main roads this time. There was one break down with Andrew's Norton suffering from a flat battery. A good event but a long way to go.
